The Town of Old Saybrook announces upcoming roadwork on Main Street at three existing crosswalks, beginning August 25th and expected to conclude by November 28, 2025, weather permitting. The project is part of ongoing efforts to enhance pedestrian visibility and improve safety.
During this period, lane closures, median pass-through closures, parking stall closures and potential delays are expected between 7AM to 4:30 PM. Please use caution when traveling in the area.
The work will include concrete curb extensions, sidewalks, pavement repairs, decorative crosswalks, pavement markings and rapid rectangular flashing beacons. OSPD officers, flaggers and signage will be in place to guide traffic through the construction zone.
We understand roadwork can be inconvenient and appreciate your patience as we work to ensure safer and smoother travel for everyone.
Access to homes and businesses will be maintained, although brief delays may occur.
