Goodwin students came together Friday, September 4, for the first Goodwin Gathering of the 2026-2027 school year, a chance for the entire school to be in one room, celebrate a strong start, and continue building the sense of community that makes Goodwin special.
The gathering gave students a chance to hear from their peers, laugh together, and reconnect as one school community. Student emcees Samantha Herman and Charles Giavarini helped lead the meeting, giving students a visible role in shaping the gathering from the start. Giving students opportunities to help run these meetings adds another layer to the experience, making them active participants in building the culture and community around them. These shared experiences connect directly to the district strategic plan work around Belonging and Ram Identity, creating regular opportunities for students to feel included, connected, and proud of the school community they are helping build.
The first gathering set a positive tone for the year and offered a simple reminder that school is about more than what happens in the classroom. It is also about being part of something together.
