Old Saybrook High School celebrated the academic achievements of its world language students on November 4, 2026, welcoming new members into the Société Honoraire de Français (French Honor Society) and Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (Spanish Honor Society).
The induction ceremony recognized students who have demonstrated dedication to their language studies and a commitment to learning about other cultures. The program included student-led inductions, recognition of new members, and a traditional candle ceremony.
Membership in these honor societies reflects more than academic achievement. Students are encouraged to apply their language skills beyond the classroom, including through community service and opportunities to engage with others.
