OLD SAYBROOK PUBLIC SCHOOLS ANNOUNCES KEY ADMINISTRATIVE LEADERSHIP CHANGES FOR 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR

Old Saybrook Public Schools has appointed several experienced and dedicated leaders to key administrative roles ahead of the 2025–2026 school year. These changes, approved unanimously by the Board of Education, reflect the district’s commitment to strong, student-focused leadership across all schools.

On June 24, the Board of Education named Matt Walton as the new Principal of Kathleen E. Goodwin School. Mr. Walton, a former teacher in Old Saybrook and the district’s Associate Principal at Old Saybrook Middle School, brings years of experience, deep community connections, and a proven record of leadership to his new role.

At the August 4 meeting, the Board unanimously appointed Stacie Anderson as the Kathleen E. Goodwin School’s Associate Principal. Ms. Anderson has served the district for many years as a classroom teacher and as District Math Coach Coordinator, bringing both instructional expertise and a deep understanding of Goodwin’s students and families. That same evening, Kevin Andersen was unanimously named the new Associate Principal for Old Saybrook Middle School. Mr. Andersen joins the district from Holmes Elementary School in New Britain, where he served as Assistant Principal.

This summer’s hiring process was both extensive and collaborative. Candidates participated in multiple interview rounds with panels that included students, parents, staff members, administrators, and Board of Education members. The inclusive approach ensured that every appointment reflects the values and vision of the Old Saybrook community.

“We are incredibly excited about the leadership team we have in place,” said Superintendent of Schools Chris Drezek. “Matt, Stacie, and Kevin bring a wealth of knowledge, passion, and commitment to our students. We can’t wait to start the new school year with their energy, ideas, and dedication to excellence.”

The final change in leadership this summer is with Pamela Listorti, who will be adding Human Resources to her portfolio of responsibilities. In this expanded role, Ms. Listorti will lead efforts to restructure and strengthen the district’s human resources operations while continuing to oversee her current duties.

“We have the utmost confidence in Pam’s ability to help us rethink and rebuild our HR structure in ways that better support our staff and the district’s long-term goals,” Drezek said. “Her expertise, leadership, and collaborative spirit make her the perfect fit for this important work.”
