Congratulations to Old Saybrook High School Senior Cayden Ratineri for being honored with second prize in the CT CHET “Dream Big” Essay Contest. The Dream Big! Competition, offered annually by Connecticut's Office of the Treasurer, gives students a chance to win up to $20,000 to save for education in a CHET 529 account, kickstarting the future they want. Congratulations to our 4th Graders for their fantastic art exhibit at Middlesex Health in Westbrook. This is a wonderful example of our students' talent. A big thank you to Mrs. Bernhardson for leading this project.

Old Saybrook High School Music was well represented at the New England Music Festival this weekend. Seven OSHS students performed in the Chorus, Band, or Jazz Band, and Sasha Dziebel was a featured soloist. Participants were selected from thousands of auditioning students from all of New England.

Yesterday, 17 Old Saybrook Students attended a full-day “Rock the Capitol” leadership event in Hartford at the State Capitol with the Ms President US program. High School mentors and middle school participants met with State Legislators and participated in a leadership luncheon with the Lt Governor and Secretary of State. Old Saybrook Middle School 8th grade student Keira O’Donnell was presented with a citation by the Lt Governor for her work on teen anxiety and social media. Ms. President US is a nonprofit organization dedicated to motivating and preparing girls in civic leadership. The Old Saybrook Chapter welcomes new girls to join in grades 4th-8th and high school students interested in mentoring opportunities.

OSMS Unified Sports had a great outing bowling in Groton today. Go Rams!

As Goodwin wraps up our annual Celebration of Reading, we would like to thank all of the guest readers who came to the school to share stories with our students. Our kids had a blast watching their favorite books come to life.

After defeating Housatonic Regional last night 54 - 36, the Old Saybrook Girls Basketball Team will play Somers on Friday at home. The game will be played at 5:00 pm. ALL SPECTATORS must purchase tickets online at GoFan. Tickets will be posted for sale later today. Come out and support the Rams!

We debuted Rocky the Ram to our Goodwin students yesterday at a pep rally that featured jump roping, cup stacking, and hoola hooping! The crowd went wild, and everyone had a great time!
