The OSHS Band and Choir attended the Town of Old Saybrook's Memorial Day Ceremony at the Firehouse yesterday. Although the parade was canceled due to rain, students still performed for their community.
Today, we were proud to celebrate and thank the many Community Partners who continue to support Old Saybrook Public Schools in meaningful ways.
This morning, students and staff hosted a pancake breakfast and presented thank-you cards to local business owners, municipal leaders, school and parent leadership groups, and many others who help strengthen our schools and community.
Their ongoing support, partnership, and generosity make a lasting difference for our students, staff, and families. We are grateful for the time, care, and commitment they continue to invest in Old Saybrook Public Schools.

Old Saybrook High School Baseball welcomed OS Little Leaguers to today's game against Coginchaug.
Today, our fifth graders participated in a "Characters from Colonial Connecticut" program that came to us from the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History in Hartford.
Students were engaged with hands-on activities related to characters from colonial Connecticut that were inspired by real people, such as a tinsmith, soldier, and enslaved woman. They worked in groups exploring artifacts, primary sources, and completing various activities to understand their character's role and perspectives in a colonial community. This connected to their thirteen colonies social studies unit, and our recent trip to Sturbridge Village.
